Tree Hive

Seed activities and games based around a fictional story of a Community of Bees living in a Tree Hive in the year 2122.

Children (and Adults!) will be able to create a player "Bee" with custom name, yellow stripe shirt styles, and switch between different "Careers" that bees undertake in order to maintain the hive and assist with the open-pollination of herbs, flowers, and vegetables. Participants are Rewarded with "Honeycombs" that can be used in Bee Box City as a currency for hive supplies, clothes, entertainment, and hiring Human Bee Keepers and Farmers.

What plants will be growing in 100 years? With an estimated 85% extinction rate* of genetic plant diversity the last 100 years... what will be the fate of these seeds for the next 100? What environments will Bees navigate on Earth, on Mars and into our Milkyway Galaxy in the year 2122?

*Educationally based kids material will be part of a larger collection of Seed Saving and Beekeeping resources/citations organized in the Honeycomb Seed Library.
